Geis CZ Specialists participated in the global shipping conference of MTG network in Manila, Philippines
Representatives of member companies of the global shipping network MTG (Multimodal Transport Group) met again this year for their ninth annual conference.
From March 10-12, the city of Manila in the Philippines hosted nearly 400 visitors to the conference who came from literally around the world. The goal of these annual meetings is not only to share experiences, but mainly to establish new business contacts.
The MTG network at present has 375 members from 101 countries around the world. The strict acceptance requirements and high demands on the professional and economic parameters of the member companies are balanced out by the exclusiveness of the membership. At present, the MTG network is closed to new members. The strategy of the MTG Network was also one of the points of the conference. “The conference began with a very well prepared presentation on the history and development of the network, and went on to present the participants with the society’s new mid-term goals,” said David Knobloch, the branch manager for the Air & Sea transport company of Geis CZ, who participated in the Manila conference on behalf of the Czech Republic. „The MTG network is already full and it is not accepting any more members. The possibility of developing commercial activities for standing members of MTG are brought in by registered users,“ he explained.
At the end of last year, MTG Network created a new platform for network users. New MTG Business Centres opened up in Shanghai, Lagos, and Los Angeles to secure shipping services for registered users from the respective global regions, merely through the member companies of the MTG Network. In China, for example, the MTG Business Centrum represents over 2,000 production and commercial enterprises. In addition to China, Africa, and North America, MTG’s daughter company – NVO Aliance, based in Singapore – works the same way. “We believe that the strategy of a closed member network on one side and the intense development of a portfolio of registered users on the other will bring us, the members of MTG, new business opportunities. This is why we took advantage of the possibility to participate in the NVO Aliance Conference that took place in Manila right before the MTG Network main conference. We know that thanks to MTG we offer our customers truly good and safe shipping services at competitive prices to almost all global destinations,” continued David Knobloch.
The specialists on Air & Sea shipping from the Geis CZ company presented their services together with their Austrian, Polish, and Luxembourg associates from the Geis logistics group. The objective was to establish as many business contacts as possible and to engage and attract new business possibilities. According to David Knobloch, a pleasant obligation was the meetings with business partners with whom cooperation already exists, and look into further opportunities.
